“I am a survivor of and advocate against domestic abuse and I owe so much appreciation and acknowledgement to Mountain Grrl and the organizations they support for my success. This time last year I was worried about being homeless. I have 3 children under 6 and ended up in SouthEastern Kentucky trying to find a place for us to live. Through Turning Point Domestic Violence Services I was connected with organizations that helped me find a house. Without Turning Point my children and I would have been another sad statistic, with the already unimaginable domestic violence statistics in Kentucky and the immense lack of shelters and resources, events like this desperately need to stay alive, well, and visible to as many people as they can reach, to keep offering hope.”
