Pike County Health Department

The Pike County Health Department is a non-profit, public service agency governed by the Pike County Board of Health. They provide preventive health services including medical, nursing, nutrition, social education and environmental interventions designed to assist individuals and communities in obtaining and maintaining an optimal level of wellness. Most services are provided for a nominal fee. No person is turned away for their inability to pay.

UK Ovarian Cancer Screening Program (Friday)

THIS PROGRAM SAVES LIVES! The UK Markey Cancer Center Ovarian Cancer Screening Program provides free annual sonographic screenings to women across Kentucky with the goal of detecting cancer early. When it’s caught early, ovarian cancer is a treatable and curable disease.

The Floyd County Homeless Shelter stands as a testament to a visionary endeavor addressing the increasing homelessness in our community. 

Through the joint efforts of dedicated individuals and Kentucky River Community Care, this shelter becomes a refuge for those in need. It not only provides immediate safety but also serves as a platform for individuals to rebuild their lives, with the ultimate goal of reintegrating them into society with the skills for a sustainable future. This initiative not only empowers the lives of the homeless but also enriches our community as a whole.

The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provides seniors with an alternative to nursing facilities and enables them to live in their homes. PACE also supports improving the emotional well-being of participants.
