The Mountain Grrl Experience is an exciting art and music event with intent to feature and promote the creativity of women in Appalachia in a safe and supportive environment. For two days in October, the City of Pikeville will be our home and gathering place where ALL are welcome.

Our VISION is a world where all females are safe and equally respected.

The Mountain Grrl Experience will feature musical performances, art displays, interactive workshops and educational programs.

This group collects and creates resources, using Turning Point Kentucky’s helpline for local people in domestic violence situations.

Pike County Domestic Violence Coalition

Mission Statement:

The Pike County Domestic Violence Coalition shall strive to provide outreach and increase resources to the community through a multi-sector approach to reduce domestic violence harm.

Meeting Schedule and Session Features
The Pike County Domestic Violence Coalition meets quarterly on the first Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at 12:00 PM. Meetings are held in the second-floor auditorium of the Pike County Health Department, with Zoom access available. Each session features a guest speaker presenting on topics related to domestic violence prevention and support, and is preceded by an open board meeting.

Appalachian Women helping Appalachian Women

We are proud to announce that proceeds from the 2024 event garnered $2,000 in funds to donate to our charity of choice, Oasis Farm.

With proceeds from the 2022 & 2023 events, The Mountain Girl Experience raised $3,500.00 in funds to donate to the Perry Cline WestCare Emergency Shelter in Pikeville, KY and Turning Point Domestic Violence Services in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

With proceeds from the 2021 event, the Mountain Grrl Experience proudly made a donation of $1350.00 to the Perry Cline WestCare Emergency Shelter in Pikeville, KY.

Mountain Grrl Experience expands to helping our Appalachian neighbors in need

Over $40,000 raised to help East Kentucky Flood victims!

A promotional poster for the East KY Rising benefit concert for flood relief. The event is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Friday, August 12, at Mountain Top Media Stage. It features a lineup of country musicians and highlights chances to win items through auctions, including autographed items and motorcycle rides. The poster also thanks sponsors and provides a Facebook link for sponsorship inquiries. Admission is by donation, with reserved tables costing $250.
